To animate or not, that is the question Feed

What are anyone’s thoughts on doing animation. Would I be wise to avoid it the first year and concentrate on lighting a few houses well? If I offer animation, is the equipment rented or purchased by the home owner?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Brian,

Unless you have lots of lead time, I’d say avoid the animation.

If you’re really confident, and you love doing it… then by all means make it a part of your business.

My experience has been that it’s fraught with “hiccups” and that you don’t have the time to focus on it in the “heat of the moment”.

The best strategy that I’ve found is to have “a product” – like a pole tree, or in my case we have done a 3 section tree… where the script is written and it’s pretty much “plug and play”.

Trying to sell residential clients on animation is not a great plan.

Corporate clients are another thing… but again… do it in June, not Nov – so you have TONS of lead time.
